Gemini Access Ltd supplied 16 one way colour video entry systems to ADT Fire & Security which were installed at the state of the art new hospitals just built in Glasgow (Stobhill & Victoria).
These PFi style projects had a combined build value of £200 million, and took 18 months to construct.
The units supplied by us had to fit with the modern feel & style of the building, and at the same time be suitable for use by the customer.
There were nine systems installed at the Victoria project, and seven at the Stobhill site. These were a mix of hands-free & traditional handset style video units. The bespoke style video entrance panels were stainless steel and incorporated CEM’s Power over Ethernet access control mi-fare card reader,(which apparently is the first time this has been done).
This project was a resounding success, with both ADT & the client more than happy with the quality and operation of the products.
Phase 2 of this project (60 bed ward) is expected later this year.

This project was installed by 'Crane Communications' in conjunction with our trusted distributor- 'A-A Security' in the much publicised brand new shopping centre in the heart of Belfast, where many of the nations designer stores are located.
On this project there are 2 individual blocks of apartments all fitted with Mono Video Intercom Units (CM-02NLRg). Each block having a main entrance, where a digital mono Audio/Video Entrance Panel (CM-03NLG1) has been installed.
Phase 1 was installed using the CM-03NL system (1x main Entrance, 15x Apartments), and phase 2 (3x Entrances, 91x Apartments) will be installed with the revolutionary new CAT-5 system.
Summary- 4x Audio/Video Entrance Panels, & 106x Internal Mono Video units.
System Operation
Visitors approaching any of the two entrance panels can use the video panel (CM-03NLG1) to contact the relevant apartment. Once the call is received two way speech shall open, as well as a direct mono video picture being displayed on the apartments internal unit (CM-02NLRg). At this point the resident can either allow or deny access to the visitor remotely via the same unit.
Residents approaching the entrances only have to present their unique RFID token to the entrance panels hidden reader, which shall automatically unlock the door for them. |

This project was installed by 'Safe & Secure Ltd' in the much sought after district of 'Killiney', where many of the rich & famous in Ireland reside.
On this project there are 6 individual block of apartments all fitted with Handsfree Video Intercom Units (CM-02NLRi), each block having a main entrance, as well as a car-park entrance. where a digital colour Audio/Video Entrance Panel (CM-03NLc) has been installed. Additional to this there is also a concierge switchboard fitted (CM-03NHMc), and a Main Perimeter Digital Colour Audio/video Entrance Panel Installed (CM-03NWDc).
Summary- 12x Audio/Video Entrance Panels, 1x Perimeter Audio/Video Entrance Panel, 1x Concierge Unit, 48x Internal Handsfree TFT Video Units. All networked together.
System Operation
Visitors approaching the main barrier shall be welcomed by a concierge officer who will ascertain where they are going. If need be he/she can contact the relevant apartment directly from his/her concierge unit, and have two way speech with the resident. Then allow or disallow access to the visitor.
If the concierge is not present, then the visitor can use the main perimeter panel (CM-03NWDc) to contact the relevant apartment, once the call is received two way speech shall open as well as a direct video picture being displayed on the apartments internal unit (CM-02NLRi). At this point the resident can either allow or deny access to the visitor remotely via the same unit.
Once the visitor is beyond the main barrier they enter a visitors car-park area, where they are able to leave their cars, and approach any of the 6 blocks. Once at the block entrance they will again need to call the relevant apartment from the entrance panel fitted to the main door of that block. This will open a two way speech path & display a live picture on the residents internal unit. By pressing the same button as before on the internal unit this will now activate the lock on the apartment blocks main entrance, thus allowing access to the visitor.
Alarm & Intercom calls can be generated from the apartments down to the concierge at any point. |
